Those who have digestion difficulties will attempt to stay away from foods that cause them issues. While there are multiple foods that can cause digestive problems, there are certain foods that are highlighted as being difficult to digest. Avoiding these foods is the best way to have limited digestion issues.

Cheese

The fat content of cheese can make it difficult to digest; MSN.com points out that fat sits in the stomach longer than other types of foods. Those who are lactose intolerant also will find cheese harder to digest because of its dairy content.

Pork

QualityHealth.com points out the fact that pork can take up to five hours to digest. It is listed as one of the hardest meats to digest.

Beans

Beans also are listed as a difficult food to digest. While beans are high in protein and fiber, they are harder to break down in the stomach than other foods.

Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are highlighted as a food that can be difficult to digest because of their preparation. While potatoes are not hard to digest, the dairy used in their preparation can make them a problem if you are lactose intolerant.

Broccoli

To put it simply, broccoli can cause gas in the stomach. The buildup of gas will cause indigestion.
