There are many natural herbal remedies that can be beneficial to the body. One of these wonderful herbs is hawthorne, which helps the heart to pump more blood and oxygen to the whole body, aiding in the treatment of congestive heart failure, irregular heartbeat, hypertension and angina. Hawthorne tincture is simple to make.

Pick fresh hawthorne and clean it thoroughly. Remove any damaged parts.

Chop the roots, leaves and stems into very small pieces. You don’t need to chop the flowers.

Put the flowers and chopped roots, leaves and stems in a clean glass jar.

Fill the jar with 100-proof vodka and seal with an airtight lid. Make sure the lid is tightly closed, as air will spoil the mixture.

Label the jar, including the date and the ingredients.

Put the jar in a dark spot for six to eight weeks. Shake it gently from time to time.

Strain out the flowers, roots, leaves and stems and pour the tincture into a clean, dry bottle.

Label the new bottle with the tincture name, the date it was made and the ingredients you used.
