Natural Options for Treating Athlete’s Foot

Athlete’s foot is an irritating and frustrating skin problem. It causes a fungal skin infection in between toes and on the foot. Fungus grows in damp and warm places especially in the area between the toes. The skin can get scales, cracks and peels of the skin. It may also start as a sore on the foot especially the bottom of the foot and lastly the large blisters filled with fluid can occur under the skin on the foot. Athlete’s foot causes itchiness and a burning sensation. However, there are solutions to address the ailment. Read on to learn how to cure athlete’s foot naturally.

Apply white vinegar to the infected foot for about 15 to 30 minutes at least twice a day. Continue doing this until the infection is gone.

Apply witch hazel for at least three to five days several times a day and this will help to cure the problem.

Apply tea tree oil to the infected area for at least twice a day until the infection is gone.

Soak your feet in hydrogen peroxide for at least 20 to 30 minutes and do that at least twice a day, until the foot infection is gone.

Sanitize any surfaces that your feet has come in contact with so that you will be able to avoid from re-infecting yourself, and infecting others with the toe fungus.

Sprinkle baking soda in your shoes to help dry up moisture in your shoes and decrease the ability of the toe fungus to continue to live. Sprinkling anti-fungal powder on your feet and in your shoes will help to stop the spread of the toe fungus.

Wash your hands regularly and whenever you touch your feet do make sure that you watch your hands with soap and warm water.

Allow your shoes at least 24 to 36 hours to air out and dry before you wear then again.

Wear shoes that allow your feet to breathe so that this will help your feet to stop the fungus from growing.
