How to Stop an Unrelenting Cough

Having a bad cough can be one of the worst feelings in the world. It can become painful and annoying for not only you but the people around you. There are so many different treatments out there to help cure a cough, with most of them being very effective. There are also alternative treatments out there that can work just as well. Garlic cough syrup is one that works particularly well. Garlic is one of nature’s cure-alls that can tackle almost everything you can throw at it. For a cough it will soothe the throat and heal the airways.

Mince garlic up to a fine pulp to make sure all of the healing enzymes are released. The smaller the pieces of garlic, the more it will help soothe your cough and airways.

Place the minced garlic into a quart jar. Completely cover the garlic with your natural honey. They honey will act as the syrup and will help coat/lubricate your throat.

Cover the jar with a lid or cellophane to make sure no air gets into the mixture. Place the jar into the refrigerator and let it marinate for at least 24 hours. Ideally, you want to let it marinate for about two weeks.

Take a teaspoon of the mixture, garlic chunks and all, whenever your cough is acting up. This will soothe the cough and stop it. It is a good idea to take the syrup in the morning and night to stop the cough when you wake up and before you go to bed.
